Latest news from

Pine Tree Council will be hosting an NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) course on 12-December-2015, with 15 seats available. The discounted cost will be $30 per person. Participants MUST be 21 years of age. This training is open to all Scouters 21 years of age and older who are interested in becoming an RSO, and volunteering at Pine Tree Council shooting sports events. Typical RSO courses cost between $125, and $200. We are offering this course at a greatly discounted rate. In doing so, the council shooting sports committee asks that you agree to volunteer as an RSO at a minimum of 8 District, or Council level shooting sports events over a period of 2 years. By taking this course and making the commitment to volunteer, you are helping the council promote, and offer a safe, educational, responsible, and fun environment for our youth scouters, as well as getting some great education, and NRA rating for your self! Tuition fee of $30.00 per person must be paid in full by 1-December-2015. Cost covers all materials, as well as snacks, beverages, and lunch. This is a 10 hour course that includes a working lunch. Reserve your seat today by contacting the council office. In depth details will be provided to registered participants as the course date gets closer. Register online: https://scoutingevent.com?RSO For More Details, Contact Ron Lemons (Ronald.lemons@scouting.org) or Annie Tarbox (annie.tarbox@gmail.com)

York District Merit Badge College – Spring 2016
(posted 2015-11-09)

We are looking for feedback from leaders on badges they would like us to attempt. The classes need to be something that can be in normal indoor classrooms and be adapted to four or less one hour increments. We would like to have open dialogue of this at the ‘scout breakout’ session of the December Roundtable, Thur. 3 Dec. 2016.

Please contact mbc2014@yorkdistrict.org if you have questions in advance of the December Roundtable discussion.
