Latest news from

Attention York District Unit Leaders! There is still time to complete the online portion of your annual recharter before Thanksgiving! Several units have done so already (thank you!) and many have started the process. Get this important task behind you now so you can enjoy your holidays without it looming over you. Even if you are waiting for your popcorn money to make payment you can still knock out the paperwork & signature part ahead of time. Remember there is NO GRACE PERIOD anymore and recharters are due in by Dec 15 so that all processing and error corrections can be completed by Dec 31. On Jan 1 all unchartered units will be dropped. All insurance and advancement ceases and new unit and individual apps for each scout and scouter are required to reinstate membership. This is a National directive, not a Pine Tree Council directive. Please don’t let this happen to any of our Packs, Troops or Crews! For help contact your district commissioner, Denis Hamann.

Path to Advancement

York Fall Camporee Art

Join the York District Advancement Committee at the 2014 Fall Camporee on October 17 – 19 in Buxton, Maine.

Saturday Morning:  The morning activities at the Camporee will include a brief introduction to a variety of Merit Badges.  Scouts will not be earning these Merit Badges, but rather simply be exposed to them.

Saturday Afternoon Scouts will teach and work on Fly First Class level requirements as well as being exposed to the many special advancement awards available.  There will also be a Life to Eagle Program for seasoned Star and ALL Life Scouts.  Be sure to sign up for your Unit to teach an afternoon session.  Remember… Scouts learn… then teach!

All WEBELOS are invited to a special program starting at 1PM on the 18th and can camp overnight (with an adult) on Saturday night.

Boy Scouts can REGISTER HERE and Webelos can REGISTER HERE and as always, pre-registration is required.  Please email Rick Raynes at rick.raynes@yahoo.com with an estimate on how many scouts and adults you think will be attending the Fall Camporee.  Pre-Registration deadline is October 3rd.
