NOTE: UPDATED EMAIL FOR JED COBB AS OF 2/8/2017 IS cobb_productions@yahoo.com

Pre-registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is required in advance using the online form below.  Some Merit Badge sessions are subject to cancellation at any time.  There is no cost to attend this Merit Badge College.  Questions may be sent to mbc2017@yorkdistrict.org.  Scouts should attend all sessions in complete BSA Scout Field Uniform and Be Prepared with a notebook, pen/pencil and any Merit Badge books necessary for requirement fulfillment.  Scouts also need to bring a Scoutmaster-signed and properly-completed Merit Badge Application Form (Blue Card) with them to the first session.  Scouts are expected to attend every session of the college

Notes to Parents and Scout Leaders:  There has been some misunderstanding on the role of the ”Merit Badge College.”  These sessions are intended to be educational for the Scouts that have registered and attended, as the word College implies.  This event is not intended to be a Merit Badge sign-off conference.  We encourage Scouts to contact approved Counselors for sign-offs for requirements and work completed outside the College event, as the College format is not intended for that purpose.

We look forward to having Scouts participate in the York District Spring 2017 Merit Badge College!

Volunteers sought for Nutter Nebula

Attention Cub Scout Leaders

York District is holding a Webelos Camporee – Nutter Nebula – from June 27 to 29 at Camp Nutter.  Scouts will be earning their Outdoorsman pin and one other pin of their choice.  In order to keep this affordable at $10 per scout, we are asking for your help.

We need each Pack to prepare and lead one Activity pin (Athlete, Fitness, Sportsman, Artist, Scholar, Showman, Traveler, Citizen, Communicator, Readyman, Craftsman, Scientist, Forester, Geologist, or Naturalist).  The Webelos should be able to complete all of the requirements in the 2 1/2 hour time allotted.  We will also need volunteers to lead various other outdoor activities in the afternoon.

Please contact Heather English (459-0210 or english@metrocast.net) so that we can make final preparations and distribute registration forms.

York Pinewood Winners

Congratulations to all the Scouts who participated in the 2014 Pinewood Derby, and particularly to those who took away top honors at the York District Pinewood Derby, hosted by Pack 355 at Sanford High School. As seen in Foster’s Daily Memorial, Daniel Shipman (Wolf, P301) claimed first, with Noah McCoy (Webelos, P399) and Ian Lajoie (Bear, P399) took second and third respectively. Great work, Scouts!
